Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Phnom Penh, Cambodia news: On 24 August 2018, at 2:30pm, a man sought by police was found and taken into custody by Psar Kandal and Daun Penh forces.

Police Colonel Hout Chanyanaran, police chief of Daun Penh district, said the suspect, Soen Virak, 32-year-old, is accused of causing the death of 54 year old Sin Srey Srey, when he snatched her bag on 23 August at Sisowat Corner, Street 130, Village 2, Sangkat Phsar Kandal II 1, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh.

The thief caused the victim to fall off her motorbike, and she was badly injured and had to be transported by ambulance to Calmette Hospital. Unfortunately, shortly afterwards, the woman died of her injuries.

The suspect, who is to be charged with stealing under aggravated circumstances, is a drug user, and was previously jailed for intentional violence in 2016.

Hopefully those charges will be upgraded to manslaughter
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

I read the thread title and expected to read a woman in her 70s had died.
Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

We live here, well, most of you reading this do, and we are well aware of the bag snatchers here, but this really pissed me off. Some scumbag thief caused the death of a fellow Cambodian woman who survived the Pol Pot killing fields era.
Awful news.
