An accident between two cars and a motorbike killed the motorbike rider and injured another in Kampong Thom province’s Prasat Balaing district on Monday, according to district police yesterday.
District police officer Chan Vuthlin said the accident happened on Monday on National Road 6 between kilometer 34 and 35 in Sala Visay commune’s Talek village.

“The traffic accident happened at 11am at kilometer 34-35. The accident happened because the cars were speeding and the drivers lost control. It was a head-on collision between a [Toyota] Sienna and a Nissan,” he said.

Mr. Vuthlin said the driver of the Sienna was at fault for entering the opposite lane of traffic while speeding before hitting the motorbike and colliding into the Nissan.

“One was killed and one was seriously injured. The one who was killed was the motorbike rider. The motorbike was ahead of the Nissan and the Sienna came from the opposite direction and was speeding and lost control and went into the opposite lane and into the motorbike and then hit the Nissan car,” he said.
