Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Baby with fatal snakebite saved by doctors

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

On 1 November 2017, an old lady took her grandson to the Seng Ranong Provincial Hospital with a potentially fatal snakebite on his arm. The grandmother is looking after the child while the parents are away working, and she is very poor. However, the doctors and the medical team at the hospital worked hard to save the child's life and they succeeded. The medical costs were paid by a local charity, with much tearful thanks from the old lady.

Wow.! Any info on how long it took before the arm looked this way? Did they save the arm?
Good news that a life was saved!

Maybe cobra bite, they come into houses looking for rats etc, end up under the blanket with so many sleeping on the floor and bite the baby.

Arm can end up like that in a day or so, less if ignorant people try to use home-remedies/traditional cures

Necrosis can take years to heal
Jesus loves you...Mexico is great, right? ;)

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

People should thank those who correct those who correct them grammatically. It's a free tip so one doesn't make the same mistake again.
