Authorities Are Trying to Free Sidewalk in DaunPenh District

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

According to the personal facebook account of the governor of Daun Penh district, currently the local authorities are working hard to free the sidewalk for the pedestrian.

Here is the text he posted a long with a few pictures showing the local authorities taking down the banner that had been placed on the sidewalk.

The usage of sidewalk in Phnom Penh is really complicated, some people use sidewalk as parking lot, some use sidewalk to exhibit their stuff and good, some use sidewalk to put their flowers and plants and some other use it to put the banner. People took the sidewalk as their private space which really affect to our city. The city hall announced to people many times to rearrange their staff and keep the sidewalk free for the sake of pedestrian and the beauty of our city.

Hmmm, it wonder how serious they are about it this time around... Doesn't look any more serious than previous attempts.

Removing signs will just make it easier for fucktards to park on the pavement... that's the problem here every dimwitted wanker with a vehicle can't seem to park on the road. Pedestrians are left walking miles out of their way in the boiling heat to accommodate these people. I'd like to see the government make it legal for anyone to key any vehicle parked on a pavement. Then it would stop immediately.

You'd have fun in Vietnam, not just cars but shops. Impossible to walk on sidewalks in large parts of Ha Noi....

Looks like the cops parked on the sidewalk while freeing up the sidewalk from things on it.

They should install bollards along all the pavements.

How about cars? They park everywhere. I'm annoyed when traffic jam because some cars park on the roads. :assasin:
