Re: Australian Teacher at APS Charged with Sex with Minors
An Australian English teacher was on Thursday charged with having sex with and indecently assaulting children under the age of 15, Phnom Penh Municipal Court deputy prosecutor Sieng Sok said.
George Moussallie, 52, who is accused of abusing eight victims aged six to 12, was arrested Sunday at his rented home in Phnom Penh’s Daun Penh district, according to Ieng Chanlon, chief of the child support bureau at the anti-human trafficking and juvenile protection unit.
“He has known the boys at the riverside for a long time, since around 2010. The boys are very poor and are beggars on the riverside,” said Mr. Chanlon, adding that Mr. Moussallie was accompanied by two young boys at the time of arrest.
Police began monitoring the suspected pedophile after gaining a tip-off from Australian Federal Police about six months ago, Mr. Chanlon added.
He said the suspect, who taught at the private American Pacific School in Phnom Penh, admitted to taking photographs of naked children but denied the children’s claims of sexual.....

Re: Australian Teacher at APS Charged with Sex with Minors
A 53-year-old English teacher from Australia was charged yesterday by Phnom Penh Municipal Court with committing an indecent act against a minor under 15 and possessing child pornography.
“This case now has been transferred to the investigating judge for further investigation and decision,” deputy prosecutor Seang Sok said yesterday.
Colonel Eang Chanlon, chief of the Juvenile Protection Program of the Ministry of Interior’s Anti-Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection Department, said Australian George Moussallie was arrested in a police raid on his residence in Daun Penh district on Sundat that reportedly found him in his room with two young boys.
“Police rescued two young boys under 11 years old from his room,” Chanlon said, noting that the boys said Moussallie had sexually abused them.
Police also seized a laptop containing many images of child pornography, he added.

Re: Australian Teacher at APS Charged with Sex with Minors
I used to work with that fucker.
Guilty or not, I hope he's jailed and then deported.
He's either guilty or just stupid enough to run around with street kids in Cambodia. Either way, we don't need him around.
I once saw him at the KFC on the riverside with at least a dozen street kids and another washed up expat who was wearing a wife-beater. Weird looking group.
The other teachers always thought he was odd and very unfriendly.
He claimed to be a qualified teacher from Australia, but we had our doubts, as many of the other teachers, including me always thought he seemed a little too friendly and clingy with his students.
He was also the only teacher that liked to to take his kids on field trips to the water park, which was another thing the other teachers found odd.
I actually Googled his name a few years ago to see if I could dig up anything unusual about him, but found nothing.
And one of the articles said that Cambodian authorities were notified of him by Australian authorities, but didn't go into much detail. If he had any record back in Australia, it would be very helpful if these schools did background checks.
And after seeing all this in the paper I sent the link of this thread to several teachers I used to work there with a few years ago, and here are some of their responses from 4 different people (who will remain anonymous, of course):
Anyways, I'm glad he's in trouble, as he was always one of those people you get a weird vibe from. I also hope this is a wake-up call for schools throughout the kingdom to actually do background checks on their teachers, no matter the cost.

Re: Australian Teacher at APS Charged with Sex with Minors
Quite possibly the whole investigation was conducted by the AFP who then passed the evidence on to the Cambodian authorities to make an arrest.
I would hope that is what the AFP do in Cambodia as there are quite a few stationed there.
He is going away for a long time I would hope.
