Sadly the wife couldn't afford to cremate her husband, but then it would take the remainder of Cambodia's forests to burn that fat bastard.

That's kinda odd, i couldn't believe expat could live in that place. That where the NGO i am working with is working. That place has nothing, not the poorest but technically poor.

Well, at least he has someone who cared enough to bury him. That's something. Better than the poor sod the other day who'd spent 20 days being eaten by worms, fungi and bacteria before they found him.

I guess he might had been broke for awhile, so he could not afford to live in the city. Are there any reasons that people could not get pension from the government of their home country?

Many, I won't qualify for a pension when I retire. I'll have been away from the UK for too long and to be honest, a minimum state pension in the UK isn't worth very much now, by the time I retire it will be close to worthless. If people don't take up a private pension (or have some alternative plan for income in later life) - they can end up royally stuffed. But this guy wasn't old enough for a pension - he was in his 50s... mostly we only you to retire in your 60s (or probably 70s by the time I'm old enough to retire).

Ok so if you are working abroad and don't pay the tax to the government, you won't be entitle to receive pension by the time you retire? Is there a requirement for every citizen in one particular country in Europe let say England have to pay salary tax no matter where in the world you are working ?

The only countries, so far, to tax worldwide income are the USA and China. You can pay national insurance contributions remotely to qualify for a basic state pension (and it's pretty cheap to do so less than £100 a year normally) but... that pension will work out to about £200 a month when you retire... i.e. not enough to live on. So, whichever way it goes... you still need to pay into a private pension or find an alternative investment vehicle or retirement will be very, very hard indeed.
