Australian drug smuggler sentenced to 23 years in Cambodian

Postby phuketrichard » Wed May 28, 2014 6:48 pm

this sucks;
one would think she would have been smarter than to hang wth Nigerians but....
A tip-off from Australian authorities has led to a Cambodian court sentencing an Australian woman to 23 years' jail for attempting to smuggle 2.2 kilograms of heroin to Australia.

Ann Yoshe Taylor, 41, wept on Wednesday before being sent into Cambodia’s overcrowded jail system where conditions are harsh.

Taylor was convicted along with 19-year-old French national Charlene Savarino and Nigerian national Precious Cheme Nwoko following their arrest after a three-month police operation in Phnom Penh last September.

Nwoko was sentenced to 27 years in jail and Savarino 25 years. All three denied the drug belonged to them.
and how fucking stupid can u be:
They said Taylor admitted she had used her backpack to smuggle heroin from Cambodia on one previous occasion.

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Hard to feel sorry for them.

My general rule is - If you want to play you have to pay.

That's stopped me doing stupid shit several times in the past.

Why would you admit to past crimes that you haven't been caught for?? Dumb!

I thought it a bit strange that the girl that admitted to previous smuggling got the lowest sentence of the three.

Always sad to see young people throw their lives away like this.

The sentencing seems very strange. I wonder why the first time offender got such a tough sentence?

I have often heard that penalties in Cambodia for drug trafficking were harsh--I guess that that's true.

All three denied the drug belonged to them.

The ONLY smart thing any of them did.

Just a reminder that AUS is part of the 5-eyes spy ring for NSA. They can read and store much more than metadata.
