Another motorbike accident in Sihanoukville - identity unknown.

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

I hope that was just one of those sort of knee jerk, not well thought out, emotional comments, that you are well known for.

For anyone that DOES actually give a fuk about their fellow human beings - he is in bad shape, but hopefully will be ok.
Of course we do - give a fuk about other people that is. Most of us anyway I think. Sincerely all the best for your mate and his recovery.

HD, you and Roz both express your opinions rather forcefully here at times, but it doesn't mean to say that defines who you are. You've said some rough stuff yourself and you know it. So think positive and don't sweat the small stuff.
Yeah, fair point mate. And I will add that I love Rozzie to death.
But sometimes its easy to be judgemental on other peoples mistakes, even though we, or people we care about, make those same mistakes on occasion.
Sometimes, as for me in this instance, you realise that - "there but for the grace of god go I or one of my loved ones". That will normally change your point of view imo
Can any of us really look into the mirror and claim innocence?
Yes, I'm pissed tonight, but didn't ride my moto. In fact I leave it at home Saturday and Sunday nights now, because I know I'm going to be drunk. Doesn't make me a saint. Just means I have learned from my mistakes. As I'm sure he has.
Seriously, take fukn CARE everyone. Love ya or not, I DON'T wish this on any of ya's.

Any time anyone is an accident I feel sorry for them, it's terrible seeing injured Barang all over Facebook.
The two questions I always ask are- were they wearing a helmet and were they drunk?

Hotdigr I have sat in your bar on multiple occasions discussing this issue, as it happens all too often - and I have made my opinion on this VERY clear (and you agreed with me at the time).

This is now someone we know - It doesn't change the fact that if he was wearing a helmet and wasn't driving drunk, it could have been easily prevented.

Having said all that - I do wish him a speedy recovery and hope it's not as bad as first thought. :(

Found out who this is earlier, a very good friend of mine/ours,

Fully agree with what Rozzie says, should always wear a helmet regardless of drunk or not, i bought myself a decent helmet which encourages me to wear it more, but im no saint,

i hope he has a speedy recovery, been thinking about him all day as his injuries sound pretty serious although he should be OK, but bleeding on the brain isnt good no matter which way you look at it

im interested to try discover what actually happened as the accident described in the OP sounds pretty drastic, and i cant imagine him riding that recklessly, could it have been that he got knocked off? i guess he wont have any memory of the incident now anyway so will probably never know

get well soon matey!

Mate, IF you happen to stop over in TH for a while on your way back  , you should check out Real helmets made out there, top quality for good prices. I use to have one, well worth the 2000 Thb! http://www.real-helmets.com/2014/index.php Surprised nobody has started importing (legally or not, not sure on the import taxes for helmets) them in here, comparable helmets are probably 250+$ in PP. Great business idea there! Just gotta get the sole import and sales rights for KH and you'll be minted in a decade!

because he is a poster here, naming him would be outing/doxing him, which is against forum rules/bad practice
