How awesome!! I'd love to know more about the medicinal herbs they used in those days.
What did they use before Tiger Balm?
It wouldn't surprise me if they used similar recipes and ideas to what traditional healers still use nowadays. There was probably a certain amount of cross-over from Chinese medicine too as there was a lot of trade between the empires and a fair amount of Chinese settled in the area even back then. I must look it up.

- According to an Apsara authority report yesterday, two vases, two dishes and two medicine grinders were found two weeks ago in the garden east of Thommanon temple.

Ear Darith, the deputy director of Angkor-International Centre for Research and Documentation, said the artefacts were used in Angkor era hospitals and everyday life.
It is interesting that these artefacts were found at the east gate (Victory Gate), which is a special gate of the temple,” he said.

Mr Darith said the vases were made between the 11th to 15th centuries and were used by people with high status. The celadon, or green-glazed, dishes were imported from China, produced in Zhejiang province between the 13th and 15th centuries.
All the artefacts have been stored at the Angkor International Centre for Research and Documentation for further research...

The celadon, or green-glazed, dishes were imported from China, produced in Zhejiang province between the 13th and 15th centuries.
So in say 500 to 700 or so, archaeologists will dig up a fossilized Chinese cell phone...

Evidence of an ancient illicit Chinese Call Center...
