2 Americans/1 British Arrested in SHV (NO VISAS/NO PASSPORT)
Robert Lee Ingram, James Corwin Martin and Garry Stanley Steggles arrested in Sihanoukville, Cambodia and soon to be deported for staying illegally
I don't know how to post photos but I know one of these guys picked up for overstaying and I bet others here also know Gary, the barman from Sakhal ? He's been here forever. Has a kid and everything. Poor guy. I suppose he will be deported ?

2 Americans/1 British Arrested in SHV (NO VISAS/NO PASSPORT)
Sihanoukville, Cambodia: 2 Americans and one British national (Robert Lee Ingram, James Corwin Martin and Garry Stanley Steggles) have been arrested and will be deported from Cambodia
Sihanoukville police arrested 3 foreigners for overstaying in the kingdom
Sihanoukville: 2 Americans and one British (Robert Lee Ingram, James Corwin Martin and Garry Stanley Steggles) were arrested by immigration police in Sihanoukville after they were found to have been overstaying in Sihanoukville city, Sihanoukville province.
The immigration police in Sihanoukville confirmed that the American named [James Corwin Martin (MARTIN JACKOVIN?)] holding password # xxxxxxxxx was arrested on 8, June, 2015 in a rented room located in group #4, village #2, and commune #2, Sihanoukville city.
Another American names INGRAM, ROBERT LEE (holding passport # xxxxxxxxx, living in village #3, commune #2. He has been overstaying in Cambodia for 255 days.
The British man names STEGGLES, GARRY STANLEY holding passport # xxxxxxxxx, living in village #3 commune #2. He has been overstaying for 239 days and he was arrested on the same day.
Police confirmed that the first American entered Cambodia via Pochentong International Airport in Phnom Penh on 26, December, 2011. Then when his visa had been expired, he continued to live in Cambodia until police arrested him.
Lately many foreigners were arrested and deported from Cambodia. Some of them were involved in overstaying and other crimes. A few days ago, with the direct order from General Choun Narin, Sihanoukville polices went to check where Chinese people live and work (Casino and Restaurant) in order to find out if they have passport and work permit. As a result, most of those foreigners were found with no work permit and fined according to the law.

Re: Overstayers - anyone know Gary ?
It probably won't be all that difficult for any of these imbeciles to come back, but next time it might be a good idea if they kept their paperwork in order.

Don't they stamp "deported" or something in their passport ? And I heard they have computers (that work) at immigration now, so coming back in may not be so easy.John Bingham wrote:It probably won't be all that difficult for any of these imbeciles to come back, but next time it might be a good idea if they kept their paperwork in order.
Nobody from Sihanoukville recognize old Gary ? He used to work at Sakal Bungalows as the allnight barman and he was running their quiz nights. Last time I saw him he was working down at the (relatively) new Sakal joint on Ocheuteal / Serendipity opposite Utopia. He was always pissed off about something - grumbling Gary. It was his persona.
Been around for years - I don't get why he only had a 3 month stamp in his passport - hang on, June to Oct makes 4 months ??

Re: Overstayers - anyone know Gary ?
You're right. If these geniuses can't manage to keep their visa up-to-date it's fair enough to assume that they won't be able to ever figure out how to get here again. These weren't just recently expired visas either, they are 6 or more months out of date.Anchor Moy wrote: Don't they stamp "deported" or something in their passport ? These guys are like ghosts. I expected to find a lot more online of people who overstay illegally in 3rd world countries.

My guess is that if you've spent the entire internet era living "off the grid" Sihanoukville, there won't be the typical internet record of your arrests, bankruptcies, lawsuits, and other screw ups in Western countries. Maybe that's why we can't find anything on them.General Mackevili wrote: These guys are like ghosts. I expected to find a lot more online of people who overstay illegally in 3rd world countries.

The last couple of months he walked around in the Vietnamese Market area with some note books looking like a teacher, and looking for free beers.John Bingham wrote:It probably won't be all that difficult for any of these imbeciles to come back, but next time it might be a good idea if they kept their paperwork in order.
He is a very bitter guy with a lot of hot air coming out of his mouth.
Why did he leave Sakal after all those years?
