Cambodia Breaking News: Police have arrested a 24 year old American tourist, SHAWN SANCHEZ from Colorado, who allegedly killed a Cambodian girl, who was working as a masseuse in Kep at a massage shop called "Lida Khmer Massage." Shawn Sanchez fled Kep after the murder and was arrested 14 hours later in Kampot. He was staying at Kep Lodge in room 17, and after the murder, police went around guesthouses to locate him. He was already gone but with the help of the guesthouses in Kep they started circulating a scan of his passport in hopes that someone would recognize him and turn him in. Kep is a seaside town about a 30 minute drive away from Kampot where Mr Sanchez was arrested.

Shawn Daniel Sanchez was born on March 15, 1993 in Colorado, making him 24 years old. It has been reported that he recently entered Cambodia as a tourist. He is currently being detained at the police station in Kep and being interrogated. No charges have been filed yet and his first court appearance will be tomorrow morning, on March 1. He will likely be facing charges of attempted rape and first degree murder, which carries a life sentence in Cambodia.

The victim, 27 year old Lork Sok Keang, who was working as a professional masseuse at Lida Khmer Massage in Kep's Crab Market, was married with one young son and is the daughter-in-law of a deputy commander within the Kep provincial military police. The owner told police that Shawn Sanchez got a massage from the victim previously, and this time returned and insisted he get another massage from the same girl. He allegedly tried to have sex with her and when she refused, he got angry, pulled out a buck knife and slit her throat, killing her instantly.

No further information about this Cambodia news story has been released yet, but he will likely be charged tomorrow at his first hearing, and then he will wait in prison for his court case to go in front of a judge.

The cops were very active looking for this guy in all GHs and bars. Well done I say!

They were at the guesthouse here in Kep in the morning, checking all guests passport. Well done. Our host explained the cicumstances.
