An American Was Hit by a Motorbike and Died
Siem Reap: An old American man was hit by a motorbike whilst crossing the road to buy beverages, he was returning from having seen the circus (Phare, The Cambodian Circus?), and he died in a puddle of blood on the road. This happened at 9:30pm in the evening of the 29th of May 2016 in Siem Reap close to American’s guesthouse.
Mr. Mao Viereih, chief of the province’s Immigration police, said that quickly after receiving the news, the immigration police (tourist police?) and the province’s traffic police were quickly dispatched to take control of the accident scene. He also said that the victim is called Owen Robert Dean, male, 75 years old, American, he was a tourist, holding passport xxxxxxxxxxxx, expiring xx/xx/xx, staying at Villa Medamrei, in room 109, in Vihear Chin Village, Svay Dangkum. Siem Reap.
The policeman further informed that following the death of the victim in the traffic accident, the police spoke to the friend of the victim, Roymon Sheridan (sic.), male, 70 years old, who was also staying in the same hotel. He told the police that at 9:47pm, in the evening of the 29th of May, he and his friend were coming back from watching the circus and both had gotten off of a tuk-tuk outside the hotel. Just after this, the victim crossed the road on his own to go and buy some beverages, then he (the friend) saw a DUKE motorbike, with Phnom Penh number plate 1CF-9229, being driven by a Khmer who is unidentified, drive full force into the back of the victim, which killed his friend immediately in a pool of blood in the road.
Currently the body of the victim is being kept at Royal Angkor Hospital, awaiting instructions from the American embassy to repatriated the body to his family.

Re: American Knights of Columbus Member Sir Robert Owens Was Hit by a Motorbike and Died (Siem Reap)
Made the news in Ohio:
"The walls of John McCollum's office are filled with photos of Cambodian orphans. His non-profit, Asia's Hope, operates orphanages with the help of volunteers who are native to the southeast Asian country and a handful volunteers from central Ohio like Bob Owens.
McCollum explained Owens was in Cambodia to bring bikes and other supplies to children that Asia's Hope has been supporting over the last several years. He was there with a group of other advocates for orphans and the poor, including his wife and granddaughter. They were enjoying sightseeing in between working when McCollum says a motorcyclist hit the 74-year-old on Sunday.
Moments after the accident, McCollum got a phone call with the devastating news that Bob had died.
Owens was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Grove City, which helped raise funds for Asia's Hope.
“First off, he's a Brother Knight. We belong to the Knights of Columbus and he and I were good friends,” Peter laments.
"I do believe that Bob died as he lived: as a champion for the poor, for the oppressed [and] for the disadvantaged,” adds McCollum."
There is also a video in the link that explains what he was doing in Cambodia:

Don't know what your on about, but no need to disrespect anyone, let alone a man that you have probably never met and will probably never live up to his standards and good deeds.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

He's obviously on about this from the OP "then he (the friend) saw a DUKE motorbike, with Phnom Penh number plate 1CF-9229, being driven by a Khmer who is unidentified, drive full force into the back of the victim, which killed his friend immediately"Duncan wrote:hanno wrote:A Duke?
