American Fugitive & Pedophile ROBERT JAMES BOEHNLEIN Arrested in Battambang, Cambodia For US Sex Crimes Per FBI Request
CAMBODIA NEWS: Former US Navy Sergeant ROBERT JAMES BOEHNLEIN was arrested in Battambang on July 28, 2017 following a request from the FBI, who wanted to take him back to the US over previous child sex charges. His sex crimes from the USA are charges regarding abuse of his own children back in the 80's, and he has already fled the country once before to escape prosecution, where he was captured in Mexico. He is a wanted man by the FBI for violating his parole and not informing them when he changed addresses.
It is possible that there are more recent charges against him, which would be even more reasons explaining why the FBI has hunted down this fugitive, but that is not confirmed. The FBI sent a request for Cambodian authorities to capture the fugitive Robert Boehnlein, which was processed in a Cambodian court on July 26 and they managed to capture him today. Robert James Boehnlein was born on March 4, 1952, making him 65 years old.
Mr Boehnlein was arrested in the city of Battambang, and since he has not been charged with or accused of any crimes in Cambodia, he will likely be escorted by the FBI back to the USA for previous charges there. Although Cambodia does not have an extradition treaty with the US, it is becoming quite common for US fugitives to be captured in Cambodia and sent back to the US to face charges. Robert Boehnlein's arrest was a joint effort between Cambodian General Department of Immigration, local police and the FBI.
Robert Boehnlein was arrested and convicted in the United States for "sodomy of a minor" in 2002 involving his own daughter over a 6-year timespan when she was 7 to 12 years old. He was Sergeant Robert James Boehnlein in the US Air Force at the time and got a dishonorable discharge, and he was also accused of sexually abusing his own son as well, and although that was brought up in court, he was not prosecuted for those crimes. Former Airman Robert James Boehnlein fled the US to Mexico in 1988, where he successfully eluded police for 13 years before being caught in Mexico in 2002, where he was found to be teaching English. The US authorities located him when they saw his name pop up on a State Department passport renewal form. They persuaded the Mexican government to charge him with using falsified documents to get a work permit there, which they needed to extradite him as the statute of limitations for his crimes had run up. It was the Air Force Office of Special Investigations who tracked him down.
He has 2 outstanding warrants for his arrest which appear to come from Maine/New Hampshire and is listed in the US Department of Justice's National Sex Offender Public Website database as living in both Pennsylvania and Louisiana, where he is a non-compliant fugitive for 'moving without notification."
In 2014 another American, Sergeant Michael Harris in the US Army, was arrested in Cambodia and sent back to the US to face sex crimes involving his own children as well, and he was convicted of possessing child pornography.
And earlier this week a British national, Mark Smith, working in a Phnom Penh school was charged with sex crimes against a 5 year old girl from his school.

And this could just be a coincidence, but Robert Boehnlein is the second American fugitive who was a sergeant in the US military to be captured in Cambodia and be extradited back to America to face child sex crimes, also against his own children, I believe. Anyone remember Sergeant Michael Edward Harris from back in 2014 who was arrested in Sihanoukville after a national manhunt? Neither one of them were accused of committing crimes in Cambodia, but both have been arrested here.
Sure seems like Cambodia and the United States have an extradition treaty sometimes.
Kind of seems like the FBI puts more effort into going after ex-US military fugitives than regular old citizen fugitives, but I don't have much to base that on.

If the alleged "foreign pedo" is guilty then I say that's a good thing.General Mackevili wrote: ↑Sat Jul 29, 2017 1:13 am It must be national "catch a foreign pedo" week in Cambodia.

I don't understand why, in the USA, someone with pot can get life in prison yet this monster that abused 5yo children was sentenced for such a short time.
Re: American Fugitive & Pedophile ROBERT JAMES BOEHNLEIN Arrested in Battambang, Cambodia For US Sex Crimes Per FBI Requ
The life sentence over pot possession days are long over. The only time I was ever 'caught', the cops gave me a ticket and took my stash.
I got a letter from the DA 2 days later, dismissing the ticket.
It's good the feds are reaching way back to the eighties for crimes of this nature. They'll, hopefully, put him in prison and the inmates will finish the job.
