Might be suicide by Russian mafia (it's a popular way to die down in Pattaya I hear)? But he picked the right floor to jump from... they say go above the 19th floor to ensure a proper splat mark rather than shattered bones and paralysis.

Worked high rise construction for 25 years. 3 floors ( 10 mts) and you will die, except in exceptional circumstances, is the rule of thumb we all work by.

Which is a good rule of thumb according to a lot of sources but Wiki finds that - Overall, the height at which 50% of children die from a fall is between four and five storey heights above the ground - which is 15 meters. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_fall#Surviving_falls

And the furthest anyone has ever fallen to ground and survived is over 33,000 feet! Which makes 10 meters look like a doddle. Though falls from more than about 1,500 feet result in the same level of impact with the ground as terminal velocity has been reached by then.

No way in hell I'd jump from a 3rd floor to kill myself! It would likely be a slow death compared to 10 stories+.

Surviving a jump would be terrible and probably make me suicidal all over again.
