Alcohol Sales Banned/No dining-in - PP

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

So will Kampot be following Phnom Penh, with possible curfew and no alcohol. While it seems the Chinese are having all the fun in Sihanoukville.

A few restaurants will let you have private rooms if you book. The restaurant will still be close but they can arrange the chef to come and serve you in a private room.
Several places that still do delivery are open to that option as the chef is there anyway.

it's about the 'leaders' (cough) realizing they might get sick and die
if contagion is widespread

that might mean cases need to go to zero
before restrictions on the peons are relaxed

Continued sales of alcohol irks Prime Minister HE who ordered authorities to crackdown on violators without mercy

Prime Minister HE today ordered all competent authorities to strictly enforce the ban on sales of alcohol across the country.

“Any violators are to be sent to the court without exception or mercy as this is one cause for people gathering and heightening the risk of contracting COVID-19,” he said, adding that despite such an order already being in place, these activities were still continuing across the country.

He added that the ban will not be eased. The law will and must be strictly enforced against those who violate it, especially during the lockdown period of the capital and other provinces with curfew and similar bans.

He encouraged the authorities to send the violators to court without exception and expressed his full support for the authorities who arrested the perpetrators as underlined in the previous sub-decree.

KT was full of threats yesterday from HE, alcohol, ambulances and army vehicles smuggling people around, people flouting lockdown rules etc. This laid back lockdown of the last few days maybe coming to an abrupt end.

These are the days the widespread corruption bites the Big Boys in their ass.

Personal interests for loads of officials are more important than some conference hall / hospital being flooded. After all, 99,9% of the population has only heard about the disease through the media and has no personal experience. Add the lack of responsibility and accountability and you have a mess.

Always gonna be "laid back" like this. What, you can't catch it during the day? If the virus was visible and there big clouds of it overhead and droplets floating around, that could surround you, you might not be so brave. Well, it's invisible to us, which makes it even worse, so imagine the first scenario as the better option. 24hrs lockdown (you can still go outside for emergencies, like avoiding starvation, as you can now). Everyone gets stopped and queried. And if "nobody's gonna tell you what to do", tough guy, look at this way; when you are out, you might infect someone (some are asymptomatic) that dies. If you intentionally did that; 'M1'. If you kill someone through negligence; involuntary MS or neg. hom., at best. Or have a read about the survivors who are brain damaged, some can't smell or taste and a third of all survivors suffer from brain fog, where they are easily confused. Fatigue, headache, migraine, brain fog, depression and anxiety, for one-third of survivors. Or you could be dead in 2 to 8 weeks. Need your precious exercise? Fuck yourself!
A little suffering today, for a brighter tomorrow, is always a good investment. Act like children, treated as such. Get the fuck inside until this is fixed!
