Alcohol Sales Banned/No dining-in - PP

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Just to wind up the conspiracy theorists who likely also think Prince Philip was a lizard, let me take this opportunity to quote him .... completely unrelated to the thread but your post presented a nice segue

“ The essence of freedom is self control and discipline”
I prefer George Clintons theory "Freedom is free of the need to be free" from "Free your mind and your ass will follow"
[/quote]

i like Kris Kristofferson's
Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose
And nothin' ain't worth nothin' but it's free

Mandatory vaccines in Cambodia
Prime Minister HE on April 11 issued a sub-decree making Covid-19 vaccination compulsory for individuals unless they have a medical certificate proving they have pre-existing health conditions that prevent them from doing so.

«This applies to all members of the armed forces and civil servants at state institutions; citizens who hold public office through elections; public officials at legislative bodies; judges, prosecutors and other officials in the judiciary," states the sub-decree.

how long till its required for ur next extension? a year?
for sure it will be required for all teachers
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Not sure where you've been in the last year or so. But I'm pretty sure on meth.

The reasoning is probably to prevent mass gatherings and parties.

But it doesn’t really match real world experience.

Texas expanded sales of alcohol to allow of take out of alcoholic drinks during the pandemic. The exact opposite of what Phnom Penh (and eventually the rest of Cambodia) is doing.

Please stock up and be safe out there.

Texas is a paragon of rational behavior and an exemplar to all- of what not to do.
I had the misfortune to spend almost a year in Coppell not very long ago.

What 'real world experience' are you talking about? Asian or Western? I'd say most khmers in their immediate neighbourhood pretty much know each other and given khmer new year would probably celebrate in groups in their immediate neighbourhood with alcohol. Contrast that to the west where we lead much more insular lives..

Old girl said if I needed beer, they would bring a box. I don't drink beer, but I may start.
