Alcohol Sales Banned/No dining-in - PP

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

PP only at this stage, 11th - 24th April.

You guys know the score...where there's a will, there's always a way in Cambodia :beer1:
It's getting a bit muddled now with each and every jurisdiction issuing their own directive. Rattanakiri issued a curfew yesterday 9PM till 8AM. No booze ban as far as I know but will test the waters this afternoon.

Yes not sure how this helps to stop the spread of covid except for maybe just limiting the # of trips one takes to the local grocery store to purchase beer.

They think they can get a better handle on the situation if everyone isn't getting drunk and being disorderly because of being drunk. Authorities around the world are doing it a lot even though it's not something I believe as well.

TaKhmau is in Kandal, merged withPP for travel purposes but not under PP for Admin, everywhere still selling beer. Just stocked up, get there before they realise what's happening and start profiteering!

Bootlegging has always been a very profitable business. I would imagine the police have already started to organise 'approved' outlets for a jolly nice fee.

This decision may wake up some people to understand. None of this mess is related to a so called pandemic.
