7 Year Old Boy Killed by Sorya Bus in Kratie
Kratie, Cambodia News: A tragic accident occurred yesterday morning, at 7:40 am on July 27, 2019, in Sambor district of Kratie province, when a Sorya bus arriving in Kratie from Steung Treng on National Road 7, hit a 7 year old boy. The Sorya bus, plate Phnom Penh 3A-9846, was being driven by Sem Pom, a 30 year old man from Takeo.
The child was killed instantly at the scene, before the eyes of his appalled family, and the driver stopped the bus and ran away. The bus has been confiscated by Kratie police.

Re: 7 Year Old Boy Killed by Sorya Bus in Kratie
RIP condolences to the parents and family, too young in this circumstance for a boy of this age to lose is life. I hope the authorities pursue catching the driver, at least in this case they have is name. But in many cases of traffic accidents the driver runs away. I understand they run because of fear what may happen too them, but where do they run, and in another province not of their own area from what they may know well. Lets face it most places have one road in and one out. beyond is countryside, such as paddy fields, plus people would see him as a stranger, I have never read before that a driver run away but we caught him one hour later.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

Run way,, is probably just a phase used, a bit like saying " he's f*+#d " or " get @*?d "
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Didn't you wonder why a seven year old was in the middle of national highway 7?
I'm not so sure the driver is to blame.
Anyway, RIP small boy.
Re: 7 Year Old Boy Killed by Sorya Bus in Kratie
Yes! I did certainly wonder why a seven year old was in the middle of national highway, or any road, firstly yes it is the parents responsibility for any child.
And I never said that the driver was at fault or neither did I imply so. What I was writing about the fact of the drivers in an accident will run away, and many don't have a name, this driver has been named. But in past years if some drivers for company's run the dash and disappear, because they or the people who employ them don't know their names of the driver who employ or pay a wage/salary to drive for them. Have you ever found that to be very strange?

I was on a Vireak night is once when the bus suddenly braked hard, really hard, and hit something. It turned out to be a kid crossing the road, mum called him to come back and he turned back witout looking. The bus hit him. Within seconds an angry mob surrounded the bus. The driver didn’t do a runner, but he pretended to. He opened the door, shut off the engine and took an empty passenger seat pretending to be a passenger.AFAIK in this case there wasn’t much the driver could have done. Busses don’t come to a full stop in a second and drivers do not expect kids on national roads at night. Ever since I understand the drivers running away.AndyKK wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 8:52 pmYes!
