71yo American Female Tourist Robbed on Tuk-Tuk in Phnom Penh
A 71 year old American tourist had her bag snatched while riding on a Tuk-Tuk with 2 friends on street 108 and 51. She was a tourist on a boat trip.
People started yelling "jaow!" (thief) and the thieves crashed their bike. One was captured, while the other thieves ran away on foot when the bike crashed.
The police got her bag back, which contained $77USD, keys and a credit card.
She felt pity on the poor thief and agreed to let him wear her purse one last time before police sent him to jail.

at least she's smart enough to not be carrying thousands like those dolts you leave it in taxi's or get robbed on a baht bus, or by ladyboy on Walking Street. I'm betting the PEOPLE and not the police made the actual arrest.
If something like this ever happens to me I'm buyin drinks all around for the street, maybe some food, make it a party.

they got away with around $50
usually the most vulnerable are targeted.

Harsh to know about this. Last week, my wife was a victim of an attempt by a pair of theives on a dream at 8:30pm near Antenna (Toul Sangke). Luckily the bag was around her shoulder and she didn't get dragged off.
Since then I've told her that she's only to go with me at night time and to ride when there's traffic and it's safe(r).
There has been an increase in crime recently.
There was no sarcasm or malice intended during the making of this post.
