Four months after the 6yo was abducted she has been found in Siem Reap. She has been happily reunited with her family, and presumably she will go back to her previous situation of sleeping on the streets with her family and begging on riverside.
There is something wrong with this happy end.

Abducted Girl Found in Siem Reap

A six-year-old homeless girl who was abducted in April from the riverside area in Phnom Penh was found on Thursday in Siem Reap province’s Bakong district.

The investigation, led by the Child Protection Unit (CPU) in cooperation with Siem Reap provincial police, had been ongoing for nearly four months before the girl was located, according to the CPU.

A man was arrested for allegedly kidnapping the girl and she was reunited with her parents on Friday.
Som Wattanak, vice-president of the CPU, told Khmer Times yesterday that the girl’s parents were elated and cried aloud when they saw their daughter.

The girl was abducted on the riverside near Street 136 on April 29. She was frequently seen begging around the riverside area and lived on the corner of Street 130 with her mother and older brother.
