Preah Sihanouk Province: A foreign cruise ship, the Genting Dream, docked at Sihanoukville Port at 9 am on September 4, 2018.

The cruise ship brought 3,562 international tourists to Cambodia for a day. The ship left the same evening for Thailand at around 7 pm.

Saw her docked on the new quay before driving to PP last Tuesday. She is easily 30% bigger than the previous biggest ones.
Having still an unobstructed Harbour view if quickly being threatened by lightning fast always higher constructions it is evident that the ships size and port of call frequency are steadily increasing.

Owned by the Chinese (Hong Kong) but now home ported in Singapore due to Singaporeans having to pay extortionate levies (Sing $2,000 per year or Sing$100 per day) to use their own land based casinos. They now can spend their money on a luxury cruise and use the casinos for free.

More profitable for the shipping line and Singaporeans love to gamble.

Genting started the casino in Perth with Dallas Dempster years ago. They're a casino company and yes, nominally Malaysian.
