33Yo Vietnamese Man Dies of "Wind" in Mok Bai Casino, Bavet
Yet another suspicious death of a young Vietnamese man in a Bavet casino has been reported to Cambodian police in Bavet city, Svay Rieng. Yet again, the local authorities find that a dead man in Mok Bai Casino died of natural causes**.
Many of the victims are young casino employees of Vietnamese nationality, who die of "heart attacks, accidents and suicides". The deaths are never investigated. Dr. Phuong Samnang, a doctor at Chi Phu Referral Hospital, has been conducting most of the forensic examinations of the victims.
Cambodia News, (Svay Rieng Province): Security guards and staff were surprised to find the body of a 33-year-old Vietnamese man lying dead inside the premises of Mok Bai Casino Company at 10:35am on August 29, 2023 in Bavet Kandal village, Bavet commune, Bavet city, Svay Rieng province.
According to Bavet City Police, the body was identified as PHAM VAN HOAT, a casino employee at Mok Bai casino, residing in Haiphong, Vietnam. He is suspected to have died of "wind" (stopped breathing/heart attack).
Sources from the Bavet Administrative Police Station said that after receiving information from the administration of Mok Bay Casino Company in Bavet Kandal Village, Bavet Sangkat, Bavet City, there were reports of a dead body in Room 5B 807, Building B, 8th floor, on the premises of Mok Bay Casino Company.
Bavet City Police Inspectorate in cooperation with the Technical and Scientific Office of the Provincial Criminal Police Office and Dr. Phuong Samnang, a medical doctor at Chi Phu Referral Hospital, led by Mr. Chhiv Ek Kong, Deputy Prosecutor of Svay Rieng Provincial Prosecutor's Office, arrived at the scene to investigate and examine.
The source added that based on the examination of the scene and the body by Dr. Phuong Samnang, a doctor at Chi Phu Referral Hospital, as well as the statements of eye-witnesses, we can conclude that the deceased definitely died of a heart attack.[ie. No further investigation necessary.]
Currently, the body was sent by car to the scene analysis office of the Technical and Scientific Police Department in Phnom Penh.
**Suspicious deaths in Bavet casinos (often the same casinos, such as Mok Bai***), which were reported by CEO News from April 22-2023. (There are probably other cases of deaths which have not been reported) :
