18YO Girl Student Killed by Hit and Run Driver in Phnom Penh

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

@Tarndog She's 'lovely' because she was a young girl, killed at the age of 18. Her parents and family will never see her grow up.
What is not at all lovely are the remarks that you are making, disparaging women victims on this and other threads. These women are dead, so try to have some respect when you post. How would you feel if some smartass posted like this about your wife, mother, sister, or a woman that you care about ?

Couldn't agree more with the above AM and also on another topic: post432020.html#p432020

Don't have anything to add other than the said member has a history of this sort of thing on death topics and it's just not welcome. @Tarndog take an extended break.

Super hate those motorcyclist that drives fast recklessly and because of their recklessness, lives are lost...
How could it be the motorcyclist's fault that the car driver fled the scene and didn't hand themselves in to police?
Common sense would tell you, human protected by car metal or motor metal protected by human, which would result in a more serious consequence?
Especially during the night, as you could see from the photo, those youngsters have no fear and each night you could hear all the loud motorcycles speeding off...

I drive around quite a bit and I don’t see that many reckless moto drivers, not like before.

Very possible the car driver wasn’t paying attention (talking in the phone?) or doesn’t really know how to drive (very common here).
