18Yo Cambodian Worker Falls 8m to his Death in Thailand

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Cambodia News: On September 4, 2021, in Rak Yang province, Thailand, an 18-year-old Cambodian man was working at a construction site with his mother, fixing a roof which was made out of fibrous cement sheet.
Unfortunately, the cement sheet broke under the weight of the young man who plummeted 8m on to the concrete floor below, and died instantly. The victim's mother was devastated by her son's sudden death.

According to the Thai police, the labour laws state that 18-year-old workers are not allowed to work at the higher levels or platforms, and the youth was not provided with adequate safety equipment, so this accident could legally be the fault of the landlord or the contractor.
