13yo Boy Stabbed by 14yo Over Mango Salt

Koh Kong: A 14 year old boy was detained by the police, after a stabbing incident at 11:00 am on October 20, 2018 at Wat Tonanon in Koh Kong.

According to police officials, the 14-year-old boy was angry with the 13-year-old boy because he had a mango and he asked the victim for some salt to eat with it. When his request was denied, the suspect stabbed him in the abdomen.

The victim was severely wounded and has been taken to hospital in Thailand.

In spite of the mostly pleasant encounters I have enjoyed in rural Cambodia, it is incidents like these that caution me to remember there is also a surfeit of ignorant yard apes.
