Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Phnom Penh: Cambodia Olympic National Committee member VATH CHMREUN has announced that the second stage of the Decho Inheritance Stadium, which build in Khan Prek Pnov, Phnom Penh, will be finished in 2022. The $100,000 was given to Cambodia to build this stadium and they don't want anything in return. This project began in 2013.

The NOCC committee said that the stadium will be done in order to be ready for the 32nd SEA Games, as Cambodia plans to host the 2023 event and more in the future. The Stadium is build on 10 hectares that is able to contain 60,000 people. It has a unique Khmer style which makes it different from any other stadium in Asia or the rest of the world.

Does this mean that the Olympic Stadium, in it's prime realestate location, will be considered outdated in a few years, and the area will be further developed?

I don't think they'll go any further into the Olympic Stadium, I'm pretty surprised how much they have already though. Some of the newly finished blocks to the north look good though, and the land was only being wasted before. The new location for this stadium is also being called "Olympic", they've already built a pool complex and other parts, it's on the Chruoy Changva peninsula but far north of NR6 on reclaimed land. You have to get on a bridge that crosses NR5. There's nothing much other than the Garden City golf resort and that place out there, it's totally empty other than a few workers.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
