Beaker, OP said himself he was already in the business of renovating existing buildings and is considering pursuing project construction using more environmental friendly techniques.
I am not vouching for him but there is no reason to think that he is anything else than a legitimate business man, especially posting pics of steady progress of his project.
As a legitimate business man he would surely prefer having customers that recommend him rather that call him a scammer.
What you are talking about is a one shot scam deal before changing town if not country.

Do you really think that once the money is in there grubby little hands they are going to spend for no reason or no gain.
beaker,, when you say things like that if reflects more about you , your attitude and your business sense, more than the builder that's building the project.

I'm not accusing anyone of anything. I'm just trying to understand how someone would pay for something that is just a sketch up drawing ?

And again I ask :
Why on earth would they finish a project if they already have sold them and have the money ?

You know when you don't answer or can't answer or won't answer it doesn't look good.
And it's not like there aren't many unfinished projects all over the KOW by seemingly well funded and honorably people.

Your not going to get any kind of a refund or awarded and judgments if the don't do as they say .
I don't think paying up front here even if you are just remodeling or building a small home is a wise thing to do. Khmers don't do it that way that I have seen they pay as the work progresses with the bulk on completion.
I'll bet this bulider isn't paying up front

beaker,,, I hope you will not be offended if I repeat my answer again to your stupid attitude .

Pictures don't lie. Minimal supporting columns with very little rebar throughout. Tons of cheap red brick held up by next to nothing. Usual Cambo construction that will be painted white and have black fungus on it next year. Didn't see any pilings being driven to support the ground floor slab. No 45 degree supports for side to side movement, no support in the walls other than the usual cheap red brick. I may have missed something, but I didn't see a concrete vibrator to settle any of the concrete or proper curing of the young concrete.

So what do you think it sez about me ? That i'm cautious and have been ripped off before or that like I said I don't understand why someone would pay up front here in KOW ?
I'm not offended.

Your answer doesn't make sense to me. He's a legitimate businessman because he said so or because he wanted to use more environmental friendly techniques ?
Or that it's not a scam because he can only do it once. Have you added the amount not exactly small change.

Who wouldn't like to go home with an few $100,000. of someone elses money in there pockets ?

Give me just $100,000. and I'd leave and take my family and retire somewhere nice.

The rooftop concrete slab was poured on Monday 14.09.2015. Luckily we completed all the works before storm.

Probably cause I have my glasses on, but I see a vibrator in those last photos.

Small, non-industrial size vibrator. Was anything like this used in the foundation slab or what about driven support pilings. Is the concrete properly cured (water?) ? Horizontal slap seems to have some small diameter rebar, but with the quality here in a couple years it will be tubes of rust. Not a good closeup, but it does seem to be the usual smooth poor quality rebar used in Cambodian construction.

Sound insulation is ok, heater insulation might be better but for higher price. Land is 1000 sq.m. and building is only 200 sq.m., enough space for parking.
:stir: -or- enough space for 4 more apartment buildings
Seems you were right about that! https://web.facebook.com/nestcondo/?_rdr
Or is this new building on a different parcel? I'll go take a look tomorrow.
I had considered one on the fourth/fifth floor of the original building, but at 1000$/sq m with no furnishing, basic bathrooms and kitchen, kind of crap location, and no elevator! :fool: The shitty units are still available at that inflated price!
Seems the new 9 storey building will have an lift though.
