Cheap rooms in guesthouses on Otres Beach, Sihanoukville

Looking for an apartment to rent in Phnom Penh? We have you covered. This is a good starting point for expats who are in the process of moving to Cambodia to live and work. Finding a villa, condo, flat, or borey to stay in when you arrive is probably one of your top priorities. Check out our listings from the community! And if you have a house or apartment for rent, you're welcome to list it here for free. Kampot, Siem Reap, Battambang, Sihanoukville, and other provinces around Cambodia also have places to rent, but you might have better luck finding them on foot after you arrive, as the largest number of listings are in the capital city of Phnom Penh.

$300. a month isn't cheap. My landlord has two bedroom house's 5 min walk to the beach for around $450. (just $150 more). And listed here are bungalows for the same, but near downtown Snookyville. Electricity is extra, but they are two bedroom houses with a kitchen. The ones near downtown have overstuffed furniture, 32in flat screen TV, free WiFi, Free cable TV, 24 hr security. So much more for an extra $150. plus elec. Getting back and forth to Otres if you don't have a bike/car is problematic sometimes.

You really can't compare a long term rental to something available for a month. It's not a bad deal if you want to be at Otres. Most of what you need will be walking distance. If I wanted to go cheap, I'd probably do Charlie Harper's or Kangaroo Kitchen. I'd be more likely to give Aqua Resort a couple hundo more than $300 though.

If you read it, this was offered by the month. You got to love the dirt almost 4-wheel drive beach road at Otres that turns into red mud during the rainy season. I guess Otres would be great if you wanted to be in with the flashpackers and tourists, but for long term (month or more) I can't really see it as you will be spending a lot of time driving or being driven to town. Remember when it rains here, it rains for months and riding a moto to and from town (or anywhere) in rainy season isn't my idea of fun. I see rooms like this in town and not to far from the beach for half the price.

The reason I thought it was expensive because you said 'rooms' in the thread title. It now appears that you are renting apartments, not rooms.

I suggest you change the thread title, you will get more business, but if you charged $160 and charged for electricity usage, the rooms would be full all the time.

Find a balance between price and occupancy.

I think you were right the first time, as there's no fridge and no pictures of the kitchen.
