If those proprties were in a resort town by the sea they would at least be double. I keep checking as I am contemplating moving to Spain.

Spain is one of the best places to buy with solid land title as the norm. There are still some places that are bank repossessions that will give you very high LTV (think 90%+) just to get them off their books and residency visas are not hard to obtain.**

You wouldn't need such a big place as those mentioned, a three bedroom place will be plenty big enough and there are far more of them to choose from.

As far as their remoteness in concerned, the first villa id a 1.5 hour drive to the coast so if you do fancy a long weekend in "Marbs", you can rent a place and get your fill of sea, sangria, English breakfasts and dodgy geezers and their trashy wives.

Oh Damn so sorry to hear this mate , I know how you feel having just gone through 3 months of a similar failed sale on a deal all lies and deceit serious don't understand what they hoped to achieve because there was never any change of any transfers until case was in escrow.

Damn sorry to hear. The same here, i or anybody else involved (lawyers, estate agency) have no idea why anybody would do this, since there was no chance of him ever getting the property this way. I do feel foolish and embarrassed to be honest. Never thought there were people like this in real life until I just encountered this one.

Sadly there is far more around now then ever I don't go a day without receiving one or two scam attempt emails, many have perfected their scams so well its difficult to see through them so don't feel bad I know loads of people fallen for their scams and lost hundreds of thousands of dollars just make sure your i's are dotted and t's crossed.
Leaves a bad taste in your mouth for sure.
