Laughable.
Monthly repayments over 20-25 years, you could buy it for less than that.
Philip, Australian friend of mine, rents his beautiful apartment in Australia for around $700/month.
Saffer friend recently rented a beautiful place in TK with pool for $500.
Seriously, who would want to live near Central Market? Eeew.
We have some err...'enterprising' expats to thank for these prices, too. I remember our departed friend KiR, and gavinmac et al for frequently defending soaring prices/attacking me for pointing out this lunacy.
Apparently my take is stupid until the prices become unaffordable for them, when the prices suddenly become lunacy. Not a good time to remind them of that.
Obviously their stance was totally unrelated to advertisers on the forum.
Why do these people get free adverts? GM?
Local English newspapers have continuously plugged Phnom Penh as some kind of real estate paradise, totally disregarding frequent power outages, horrific traffic and 2nd/3rd grade infrastructure.
When the vacant shells of Camko City and Fool's Gold Tower are mentioned (remember that?), or extremely low occupancy rates in other newly-completed blocks, there is frantic scurrying by estate agents to reassure ignorant poor souls into buying a unit.
Not with your barge-pole.
Happy in my street-level (gated street) 2-bed $150/month apartment with aircon, thank you.

I looked at a property on the outskirts of Koh Kong yesterday. Shop-house type. Ground floor - Shop/Room. Bathroom and Kitchen. 1st floor 1 bedroom and then mezzanine looking over the shop room. 2nd floor 2 very large bedrooms and bathroom. Also a balcony on this floor.
Rent $100 per month.
Rent $100 per month.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

you could afford to fly to PP if you wanted to go to luckys supermarket etc several times a month for what he is asking for this place or buy a carAndyKK wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2017 12:34 pm I looked at a property on the outskirts of Koh Kong yesterday. Re: Beautiful Apartment for Rent Central Phnom Penh
I like the quiet vibe of KK. SHV is too hectic for me now, I need to roll back the clock a dozen years. So next time I get kicked out of my apartment by the Chinese I'm going to make the move.AndyKK wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2017 12:34 pm I looked at a property on the outskirts of Koh Kong yesterday. Re: Beautiful Apartment for Rent Central Phnom Penh
A bit of a commute from Singers to Phnom Penh each day, don't you think?
Re: Oxley Convention City
This is in Indonesia, not Cambodia. Furthermore, people don't move to third world countries to pay New York City prices!sheyreyes07 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2017 3:03 pm Looking for your ideal home?
