Blood donation needed, Please help

This is our job board for expats. Until ZipRecruiter and Indeed make their way to the Kingdom of Wonder, this is the best place to look for employment in Cambodia, whether you're looking to teach English, manage a 5-star hotel, volunteer, or even work for some of the big NGOs. Even digital nomads who move to Cambodia sometimes need a side gig as a TEFL instructor from time to time. Most professional expatriate jobs are in Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap and Kampot are emerging as attractive alternatives. If you're an employer or hiring manager, you're also welcome to post your job listing here for free.

I care for Nak's condition and that of her needs on a daily basis.
But the other day her sister was aproched by some person who has treated people in the past with the same condition has Nak's illness with 100% success rate, being a drip into the back of the hand at a low cost of $1000.
It took me a long time to explain that if that was the case of this medicine, the people would be recognized the world over, for their breakthrough of new medical science. But even so the locals now question my intentions for the wellbeing of Nak and more so monies.
Tell Nak’s lovely family to have a whip round to raise the $1k for the treatment, and that if it’s a success you will reimburse them in full. Or you could request this medical miracle worker to administer his wonder treatment on a ‘no cure, no fee’ basis.
Either way, with a 100% success rate, they've got nothing to lose.

If it works 100% of the time the con artist will be happy to deter payment until the patient is fully cured.
Scarier than malaria.

I actually think this kind of person is the lowest of the low, to pray on the sick and vulnerable in most cases. It's extortion at it's lowest level.
I mentioned to the sister that this person can come and thumbprint a paper with me at the police station. No one has heard from her since.
Tomorrow I have an appointment with the doctor that first diagnosed Nak's condition. We will see how treatment will go on from there.

Having seen a ‘real I am snake oil salesman’s pitch’ out here in the sticks a few years back, which was basically a guy mixing glasses of chemicals which changed colors from clear to blue and then to red (like a high school science experiment) This apparently was rock solid proof that the sachets of medicine he was selling would ‘clean your blood’ and witnessing the villagers practically climbing over each other to buy the stuff, it’s not difficult to believe the blind faith they can place on ‘quack medical practitioners’ here.

My gf gets some cough medicine from a kru khmer.
It works well.
Little black, soft, slightly sticky balls.
Pretty sure it is opium with a little camphor oil mixed in.
He doesn't always have it.
Kind of expensive.

I don't knock some of the herbal medicine out in the countryside, some of the mixtures will go back century's, also I would think that some of the herbalist's are genuine.
I mean when Nak wanted to go down that route sometime back I was very concerned, but I got her to take the vitals of approved meds alongside. Her condition is not something to be messed with.

It was a friend of mine some year's ago in Koh Kong who showed me how to extract oil from weed. He was using it for pain relief, having terminal cancer. Once the oil was ready then we would add chocolate.
I was buying weed (10,000reil) by the rice sack full from Khmer friends out in the sticks.
It came into it's own when I had to travel overland to Bangkok, then two flights to the UK when I was in need to get to a hospital for my operation.

Took Nak to the private clinic where she was first diagnosed of her condition and illness.
I spoke with the doctor yesterday at great length about Nak's present condition. Again, we agreed that there was no reason to go through the routine of many tests that are not of any value to her.
He said to me when I bring Nak he would give her a small blood test that would tell him with the result how much Albumin she would require.
I was presented with a prescription for new medicine for her before I left.
So I arrived with Nak today has arranged yesterday, we sat Infront of the reception for sometime with them having no clue why we were there. Then we were taken to another part of the building where the doctor was, and he's now telling me that he wants to do a CT scan and a list of tests after that. I said that is the opposite of what we agreed yesterday, and mainly unnecessary at this time.
So back to the original plan agreed! But, he didn't do the blood test, the female assistant was preparing for the drip, I said that Nak's vain in her arm is difficult, and put it into her hand. They proceeded to put the needle into her arm. Then told me the vain had collapsed, then they put it in the back of her hand with no problem's. First they had to put in another saline before the Albumin.
The doctor said that he didn't have much time and if they prepare the first bottle then I could take Nak home with the drip, and then change to the second bottle myself. That's not a problem but I can do that here too, so I would not be taking her home but doing it here. For a start it's a cleaner environment in the clinic and there's staff at hand if there happened to be any complications.
The doctor said he was going to change Nak's medicine, writing me a prescription before he left to his other position in the local hospital.
When he left the assistant came back into the room and advised me to take Nak next time to the main hospital.
The bill came too $135.

It's not a problem for me changing the drips, you must do this too in the government hospital's. The medical staff will set up the drip, putting in the needle, but after that your on your own.
