Not talking about the massive ones. Just a regular pie about the size of a CD (or squished CD [oval shaped]).

I'm just pointing out that the 2000-3000r Khmer ones aren't what you lot are talking about.

Yeah, 2000-3000r for a pie doesn't sound right.

I am from the USA we don't do meat pies very much unless you are talking pasties. I have had those before. I guess in the case of meat pies "size matters". I don't know why. Whatever you want to call those 2000 reil meat filled pastries they are pretty dam good, but they are not a pasty.

John Bingham wrote:The beef & onion pie at the Rising Sun is very good. It's in a puff pastry and I'm sure the meat is not mechanically recovered pig snouts/camel's eyeballs etc.

I've not tried their beef & onion, but their chicken pie with mash, peas and gravy is my go to pie in Phnom Penh. Not cheap but it's almost enough to feed two adults, and definitely enough for me and one of the kids.

I'll try the b&O next time.

That would be reason enough for me not to go.

tbh i not been back since, it was when id previously bought some pies and the guy (not sure he was the owner tbh) short changed me 3 times in the same transaction, it got to the point where i went to their money box myself and took my own change,
but the pies were nice and the brekki was recommended so i gave it another shot, it was nice but Snookies is better value for money imo and only round the corner from my house
