I tip less than a dollar as a matter of course as they act as the restaurant waiter/waitress would and I would generally tip them.

As a point, does anyone actually know what the deal is for delivery drivers? Like, how much per delivery, a small percentage of the bill, or what?

I don't support yellow people so of curse I tip nothing. But when I'm home I always tip 20-30%.

Depends on what platform and what city. But for example in Phnom Penh Nham24 pays base salary of $100-$250 and then they get commission on each delivery. Not sure how much it is. And obviously they get the tip too.
Average salary for full time Nham24 delivery driver in Phnom Penh is around $550. In Sihanoukville slightly less, Kampot and Siem Reap on average they make probably $400-$450. The best ones in Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville makes closer to $800 / month on peak months, which is pretty great salary for delivery guy in Cambodia. On other platforms the drivers are often just freelancers, so no base salaries. Nham24 pays the best.

My personal code of ethics mandates that I be charitable to those less fortunate than me, which is 99% of all Cambodians, so I tip generously to anyone that is competant. Besides, since I save umpteen dollars in Bar Fines and Leave as Soon as I am Finshed fees for the go go girls by not beiong in Bangkok, someone needs all that spare change.

I agree w/ this. 1 dollar may not mean much to us but for the driver -- especially if they are competent. I never really ordered food in --while in Cambodia but was curious for the people who have, do you get the same driver/ delivery person? There are soooo many of them. I would think it would be nice to tip someone- especially if the same person delivers food to you again

When ordering at home in the sticks I give a 2000r tip because it's a 5 km ride (one way) to deliver from restaurants in town. That's on top of the default delivery fee (65 cents?).

No, I get food delivered about 10 times a week and it's never the same driver. Some of them are fine and others are absolute morons who park up in the wrong place and then they call you and you have to explain to them that they should try looking around. Like I'm across the street a few meters behind you 8-) Also most Cambodians I know are far more wealthy than I am - but maybe you're some kind of multi-billionaire so fair enough. 8-)

I remember sihanoukville started this whole business with a guy I knew started a thing called “ tuk-out “
I never tried it because I had a moto and there was so many places around the beach road
and on the beach where I would walk
I still have a moto and still have never had a food delivery ever
I see the way those guys drive and they really “ piss “ me off
Cutting corners , coming straight at me in my lane while turning corners and never stop for stop signs
( nobody ever does but me ). I sit at stop signs pointing to them and with that look on my face .
There is a place I would like to try but they are far away , especially in raining season
They don’t like me so I would have to have someone else order for me .. and of course I would tip ..
Food delivery is fairly new here , Never had it while i lived in thailand 🇹🇭
And back where I came from where I was born the only thing that delivered was pizza 🍕 pie
Mmmmmmmmm hawaiiin !
I also remember the days of video rentals , and they even did that in sihanoukville
I could get a memory stick with movies on it from the top cat cinema ..

Those were the days … i sure miss shitsville …
I went there to die .. now everybody s beating me to that !
If I live long enough I still might die there

Jeez I haven’t been able to post a picture in seems like forever now
Even spreading my fingers apart and making this bigger it’s still too blurry to read
So is this the way it is always going to be from now on ?
No brainiac can fix it the way it was ?
