I have gone this way, due to getting more for your dollar, happy you are enjoying the thread, just thinking on something a little different from the Coved 19 that filled the site. Hope all is well for you in old blighty, take care there.
Another dish I had tried to replicate is one of my favourites, that I had in Jaisalmer Rajasthan. Potato and Pomegranate, but the fruit is not too good here,
Always "hope" but never "expect".
Re: The Curry Club
Looks a good value package for $5, but I would take exception to the chips. But hey, I'm a purist!
Re: The Curry Club
Also one free beer two chapatis and two poperdoms, plus, top up of rice and curry, chips you know are a Brit thing I could not leave out.
What about the samosa for $1 per portion
Always "hope" but never "expect".
Re: The Curry Club
yes, it's a good package, and the samosas are good for a $. Definitely one of those things to buy in, not make.
Chips and curry sauce are ok. Many a Friday night was finished off with a bag of chips and curry sauce from the Chinky. But I was about 18 and was very uncouth in my youth. Still am, some would say.
Re: The Curry Club
Was we not all very uncouth at the age of 18. Do you remember the frozen blocks of Chinese curry in the supermarkets in the 80s.[media]Doc67 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 2:53 pmyes, it's a good package, and the samosas are good for a $. Definitely one of those things to buy in, not make.

Also the first Indian in my town was a take away only, they took over the vets and served you though a hatch. My friend said "Andy you got to come try this". Shami Kababs and Pakistani meat Karahi with chapatti, we dinned in the local park opposite, I was hooked from that first time, but never found the same taste has those slightly burnt Kababs.
One last dish I make, Kofta I really like.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

Hmmm, I see an opportunity for a Korean restaurant...Also the first Indian in my town was a take away only, they took over the vets and served you though a hatch.

Not sure of the name I'm not in Cambodia to go see but it's an Indian restaurant/guests house next to Sinans on your right facing the restaurant.the one on the left I've never seen anyone in there.
I'm standing up, so I must be straight.

Re: The Curry Club
Is it the Punjabi Kitchen Indian Restaurant & Dormitory? If so it's one I have not been too, and will have to pay a visit. Last night I called at IDLI DOSA Indian Restaurant once again, wanting to try other items on the menu. I had chicken samosa sat in the cool air outside and a can of Angkor.atst wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 3:00 amNot sure of the name I'm not in Cambodia to go see but it's an Indian restaurant/guests house next to Sinans on your right facing the restaurant.the one on the left I've never seen anyone in there.
They was not two bad. I ordered chicken masala, lemon rice and 2 chapattis to take away. I ate some but most ended up in the bin. Too be honest Phnom Penh is so hit or miss.

I was wondering what Idli Dosa was, I've always known it as Dosa Corner.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
