The Best Bay sach Chrok in PP.

Post by juansweetpotato »

I have a question. Bay sach Chrok. (Pork rice). A Cambodian staple. I have had amazing ones (good tender pork) and i have had shit ones (mostly OK). When the pork is good, its great. My question is where do you think is the very best Bay sach Chrok place in PP?
Is there a local restaurant that slow cooks the best pork you can buy, maybe even smokes it or something? Quality and consistency are the main criteria here for me. Be good if there were somewhere that did it in the afternoon and evening as well. I'd be willing to pay up to 2 or 3 $ for that special one.
Anyone have any recommendations?

I am sorry. I actually can't tell where you can get the best bay sach chrok in Phnom Penh. Normally during the day I always get at one of the stall close to my office. It is really nice and I pay only 1 dollar for a big plate of rice with marinated grilled pork stick.

During the weekend I always go to one of Vietnamese restaurant in front of my rented room. I pay 2 dollar for a big plate of rice, however it is nice and worth the spending. It is along street 230.

I will update with the picture next time.

it would make a world of difference if the pork was tender, and not more like jerky.

Samouth,

Are you referring to Cafe Mae on street 230? She does a great bbq pork with rice. I have been eating there for years. very sweet lady too. I am pretty sure the address next door is 476 St 230. I could not find an address when I ate there last week. Great food and coffee.

Why is it that everytime I search for a street in Google maps , it rarely comes up!

Be great if you could supply a Google maps link.
TIA
