For some reason all this causes a problem with taste and quality. Therefore the best way to get better food on planes is to choose cold dishes (where available).
In first and possibly businees some of the food is actually cooked on the plan. i remeber first class being introduced to the chef who brought each a meal seperatle on proper plates. Course it could all be a marketing gimmick.
Worst food ever bangkok airways fish, which i aleways seem to get on shoirt hops. Best longhaul budget qatar i think qatart just pips emirates
They don't really cook on the plane. It's just a marketing gimmick. The onboard chefs are really just flight attendants that have had special training. What they do is just make sure the dish looks the way it supposed to be and it's heated properly. I believe only food cooked on plane now days is eggs on Lufthansa's and Cathay's first class?

when i flew with 'Thai smile' from BKK to PP it was only an Hour flight, was only in economy and was surprised when they came down and handed out a in-flight meal, came in a nice box in a material draw-bag, which the two women sat next to me asked if they could keep and they said of coarse, was a nice meal too tbh

Qatar Airways always serve up above average airline food and they are VERY generous with the beers, wines and spirits.

It's a 5-star airline with 5-star service and beats most of the competition.
