true...
but looks the same as the turmeric sold at supermarkets otherwise...
turmeric - (Curcuma longa) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turmeric
saffron - Crocus sativus - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saffron
on psar leu/new market/rd 6 they sell turmeric (but pretty big, rough stuff) for $1 per kg.
saffron is $1.70/kg in Angkor market.
Saffron is available powdered at lucky supermarket as well.

No fucking way. Saffron is not powdered. They are short red hairs. The best cost as much as cocaine. You've obviously never seen any. I love the stuff for my risotto, but it's so fucking expensive !potty wrote:true...

ok, this I didn't buy.
package from angkor market and the other on rd 6 says "saffron", but it really looks turmeric.
and the yellow powder at lucky says "saffron". im 99.9% sure.
perhaps not correctly labelled here...

ok everyone, after the stuff was identified...
buy your TURMERIC at Angkor market in SR or on rd6 the other market and enjoy it.
you will do something really good to your body and brain.
cut some 3 to 6 cm into small pieces (use metal, it stains everything!) and down it (no chewing).

Not necessary potty. It's available at any/most local markets on a daily basis.potty wrote: buy your TURMERIC at Angkor market in SR or on rd6 the other market and enjoy it.
Quite a number of Khmer meals use turmeric. Mmm, delicious!
