Discussions about restaurants, cafes, coffee shops or bars in Cambodia. Feel free to write any reviews you have, whether its the best burger you've had in Phnom Penh or the worse pizza in Kampot, we want to read it! Discussions about Khmer dishes are also in here, or you can leave your own. If you own a restaurant, feel free to let the expat community know about it here so that we can come check it out. Found a favorite cafe or have a place we should avoid? Tell us about it. Asian recipes & questions are always welcome.

I got sick from the scallops at Khin's shack a while back. I went there a lot before even though the waiter is a real jerk, I liked the food up until the all-night-talking-to-the-white-throne. Didn't much care for the flys and no fans, but the food was cheap and good.

Another vote for Kihn Shack ( no.49 btw) eaten the scallops 2 or 3 times a week on average for the last couple of years, never had a problem and the staff are fukn great!
BUT, my go to is Wednesday nights roast chicken dinner at Snookys on the beach - chicken stock soup + 1/2 a HUGE chook with all the trimmings + watermelon to finish, all for $5! Great ambience, great music & pretty much locals only ( unless you are invited by someone " in the know"). The Monday night Ribs are also brilliant, as was the Saturday night Lamb roast, (now unfortunately cancelled because their was NO way they could make a profit on that much lamb at $7!)

I've had discomfort a few Xs, but never out & out diarrhea. For some reason, always during Rainy Season. I don't know whether it's because they're slower or because there's a lot more poop washing down into the ocean - or both.

The guy at Beirut told me a few weeks ago he was likely to move up the road as the landlords were doing the regular thing... Said the name would probably change too.

Anyway, apparently they've reopened in the old Green Vespa site which is a bit further up the road northerly.

He also said the menu would be pretty much the same.

Now called Hommous House if I'm not mistaken.

Hommo's House? Humous House? Hommous House?

Spelling and punctuation are kinda important when you name your business huh?

Well JP, looks like I was mistaken and that I can't spell for shit - my touchpad is also out've control - these things happen  In French, it's "hommos" LOL

It's not my business. Never even been there, just heard that the new Beirut is called Hommus House and thought I would mention it since someone was asking...also thought I might try it out.

Not worth getting knickers in a twist, tits in a tangle etc.

Looks like Snooky's lost about half the place to the road widening project. I liked Snooky's and the owner seemed like a nice guy and said he went to Thailand all the time to get his steaks. I tried his steaks twice and they were terrible. Eat a few other things there and it was good. I have yet to have a steak in Cambodia that comes anywhere near Monkey Mark's.
