Go to place favourite local dish

Post by Mooser »

I always make it a point to not only partake in the local culture, but also the local cuisine.
And make an effort to try local dishes.
In cambo, I enjoy the beef loc lac, fish amok.
The restaurants on 172 seem to fit my taste. Any other suggestions

i never see khmers eating amok or loc lac. they are always eating some green watery soup!

I like the borbor, (rice soup with chicken), from a street stall opposite canadia bank sihanoukville.

The soup is, spelled phonetically, Sala Ba Hawo. It is sort of a coconut fish noodle soup.

Tasted some great mushrooms last night. Very strange looking, they were fried in batter and didn't really taste mushroomy - but went really well with a few beers.

Yes it is really funny. I am Cambodian and I never have eaten amok. However everytime I met foreigners and asked me for Cambodia dishes. I always suggested them to eat lok lax or amok. :)
