Khao Kha Moo
Khao Kha Moo
Is there anywhere in PP that serves this Thai dish?
I discovered it on my recent trip to Thailand and it was one of the highlights. (I can imagine all you Thaisiders rolling your eyes at my 'new' discovery )
I am not into street food as a rule, but my mate forced into a little drab side street restaurant and made me try it, from then on he couldn't get me out of the place.
It looks easy enough to make, but I don't want a huge pot of the stuff.
My favourite Bangkok restaurant.

What is this ?
Khao kha mu
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Khao kha mu (Thai: ข้าวขาหมู, pronounced [kʰâːw kʰǎː mǔː], lit.: 'pork-leg rice'; Chinese: 猪脚饭, pinyin: zhū jiǎo fàn), or sometimes simply called kha mu (ขาหมู), is a popular Thai food. It is influenced by Chinese cuisine, specifically Teochew cuisine.[1]
Khao kha mu is an individual dish consisting of stewed pig's trotter in seasoning condensed hot pottage (some recipes are mixed with cocoa powder or boiled peanuts[2] [3]), then it will be cut into thin slices and topped on steamed rice. The dish is served with half spiced corned eggs, small pieces of pickled mustard greens and occasionally blanched chinese broccoli with fresh bird's eye chili peppers and cloves of garlic on the side. Sometimes it is eaten with clear broth soup. The accompanying dipping sauce is most often made of yellow chili peppers, garlics, granulated salt, limeade and vinegar.

Re: Khao Kha Moo
I've had it before, or at least something that came suspiciously close to the Thai version, at a restaurant where my bus from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap stopped.
So I'd guess it has to be somewhat popular in Cambodia as well.

This is the stuff to look out for if you are planning to give it a try cooking yourself.
