Dolce Vita
Dolce Vita
Gotta say this place on 172 is turning into a bit of a drop in favorite for me. Has anyone else tried it? They do a very passable diavola pizza and there are few things I enjoy at the moment more than getting one if those outside tables, eating a medium diavola with added anchovies and extra chilli and chugging it down with a half litre carafe of house red while you watch the world go by.

Re: Dolce Vita
Love the place! Was just there on Friday with a friend for lunch. I usually order the enchilada, which is something they took off their menu (I think they just had too many Mexican dishes listed, and they were all exactly the same, except the sauce) a little while back. But it comes with the best creamy sauce! Wouldn't ever call it an enchilada, but it's the bee's knees anyways.

A fantastic chicken cordon blue too with quite frankly the best mashed potato I have ever had. The guy who runs it know how to cook.

His brother also owns/runs a place called Nike's Pizza that does excellent pasta cheaper than chips. He's on my delivery speed dial.bendix wrote:A fantastic chicken cordon blue too with quite frankly the best mashed potato I have ever had. The guy who runs it know how to cook.
I believe they both started running their places back in the UNTAC days and got help off the Westerners.
And La Dolce Vita was originally in LakeSide, and he moved to his current location when all the land grabbing was going on there.

You're like a walking encyclopedia of Phnom Penh's eating establishments.

Re: Dolce Vita
Tried La Dolce Vita last night and the food was excellent. $4 for gnocchi quatro formaggi was amazing value and a large serving.

I used to love them for breakfast... because they had a proper homemade new york style plain bagel that was wonderful. last time i went in the staff all looked at me like i was speaking hebrew when i asked for it, even when i showed them a picture of one... sadly i suspect it is no more.
