Quealy's does a good burger on charcoal.

Brooklyn pizza does a real good one too.

The former Cali2, now Sundance Riverside as well has vastly improved the food.

Nothing is going to beat the current bangers and mash at Quealys.

The burger at Larry's is excellent. One of my favorite burger in Phnom Penh.

We tried that new fatboys burger bar in BKK1 the other week. It was ok but nothing special. I found the burger really small for the price as well.

They have some fancy burgers with some crazy toppings but I guess that's the gimmick behind it.

Forgot to add,

Score bar does a decent burger as well but again quite expensive for what it is.

IMO, the best burger in SEA is at Monkey Mark's in Snook. It's about as big as your head ! The only thing is that they fuck up the temperature constantly. Same with their Rib Eye. Considering what he charges, who cares ! I've had allmost as good in BKK, but they cost > 2X as much.

larry's , the grilled.burger is ground ribeye - aussie beef- arguably the best premium burger in PP.
quality is not cheap. you can easily tell the difference at first bite.

any charcoal grilled burger wins over fancy though.

you want abt 20% white beef fat in it.

brisket and shoulder are the best.

using fine steak is a waste- and is not so full of flavour as the rougher cuts.
skirt runs a close third, but that cut is best for meat pies.

where to get a good meat pie?

That deserves a thread of its own.

I think the most under-rated burger in Phnom Penh is from Java Cafe.

You never hear people talk about it, but it's consistently a damn good burger. Good bread, awesome bacon, the best fucking cheese, and the patty was very good too. Even comes with good fries.

I ordered delivery from there all the time, and they always seemed to get it right and it arrived fast, even during rush hour.

One of the few places I felt I was getting my money's worth for actually paying $1 for "delivery."

They were so competent that they even gave me a customer ID # that I could use instead of going through the tedious process of describing my address each time. They even managed to successfully update it when I moved.

That said, LoneStar often won my order, because for an extra $2, hey, it's almost silly to NOT go for the big half rack of ribs with 2 sides.

Anyways, this talk of food is very upsetting to me right now, as it's Ramadan in the middle of the desert and the closest place I can grab something to eat from right now is at a mini-mart, ironically also owned by Indians or Pakistanis. I thought that was just a US thing, but apparently they got the whole planet on lock down with mini-marts.
