You can use any kind of meat for the stuffing, but it's usually pork. I've never had it with mushrooms, but I picked this video because it explains everything clearly.

There is a Khmer cooking app with more than 100 dishes with pictures ingredients and videos showing step by step it's called 'Khmer Cooking' got it from istore for free not sure if they have an android app.

Every time my mom cooked this dish. I only ate the meat. the bitter melon is too bitter for me. However, it is yummy though and i learned how to make it when i was living away from my family.

The dish is good if the melon is filled with meat, but I've eaten it where it's filled with noodles. I ended up with bitter beer face so I couldn't throw it up.

What is bitter melon ? Sometimes called bitter gourd.

It is also supposed to be good for your health, and even cure or help with various ailments, diabetes in particular. (Please note that this is not an endorsement to treat yourself with bitter melon. But, Samouth, you need to eat more than the meat for it to be good for your health. :) )
