I remember "breakfast" at Almas with you and OD, and you, and OD, and from memory each time it was getting on toward 2pm and you guys had scraped out of bed to come and share the love. Ah, good times.

FWIW I've spent quality time with Taa (as I have with a few CEO folk) and enjoy his company - he's got plenty to show for life. He's just a niggly bastard! :D

Oh God, don't do that - you'd only encourage them.

Related note, I was reading some vegan rubbish online the other day (no source, sorry, I know you'll be devastated) in which "new" vegans can now wear leather and wool as long as the cow or sheep was a true vegan. I kid you not. We had one precious young snowflake stay in the homestay who started trying to force kale shakes for breakfast on everyone in the house. She screeched about her veganism, except she needed to eat fish, and sometimes some chicken for the iron content. Oh, and liked bacon, and once or twice a week ate beef for health reasons.

Despite the risk of seeming unreliable, we have decided to open this afternoon. This is for this Sunday only! We'll be open until 8PM for dine-in and take-away orders. We probably won't accept any delivery orders unless they are really large or in walking distance of the restaurant, as our only way of making a delivery at the moment is to call a tuk tuk and deliver it ourselves.
Great food for dine-in, delivery, or take-away. Call 085 540 525.

Hey, I hope everyone had a great Khmer New Year holiday. I've been really busy and haven't had time to post here, but I wanted to mention that we once again have pork ribs and smoked mac and cheese. They just came out of the smoker last night and after I mentioned them on Facebook we sold half the ribs and 1/3 of the mac & cheese in the hour and 45 minutes before closing. I don't know if that means that we will sell out of all the rest really quickly or that everyone who was waiting for them got their fill right away, but for now we have them. These are some of the best looking ribs we have had and we're trying a much spicier sauce than before. The mac & cheese is also quite a bit different than in the past at Sharkey's and Reef Resort. It is using two kinds of pasta and even more cheese, but with less smoke and no breadcrumbs. I had both for dinner last night and loved them, but a full order of both is too much food for one meal for most people (although one frequent customer and his friend actually managed to put away two orders of ribs and three mac & cheese between them). If we stay with this recipe we're going to have to raise the price, but for now it is still $4.50 and the quantity has not changed.

Please note that all previous promotions have ended, but we are offering a "pre-happy hour" promotion to all forum members who request it: One free canned beer or soft drink with dine-in and take-away orders of $5.50 or more from 2PM to 5PM. Sorry, but delivery costs us so much that we just can't offer any promotions with delivery orders.
Great food for dine-in, delivery, or take-away. Call 085 540 525.

I don't have a girlfriend either, but I know 8 Khmer chicks on Badoo that would be really upset if they heard me say that.

It was actually the owner of another restaurant, who has eaten at our place a few times before. He and a friend were just sitting down to eat at his place, saw the post, and left and came to us. I thought that was pretty cool!

Ribs are back. So's the mac & cheese. We sold out of both last week, and this week we only have about half as many ribs (supplier issue) so I'll be surprised if these make it to the weekend, but it's low season so anything is possible. Despite the fact that they are selling so well, and we are now using even more cheese in the mac & cheese, the prices are still the same: $6.75 for ribs plus a side salad or fries, and $4.50 for a serving of mac & cheese that I would call large snack/small meal size, or a side item for two people. Oh, and the smoker has been moved to a new location so we have room for another table now.
