ZYXWVUT......

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. ZYXWVUT......

Post by Duncan »

Last night I asked my 5 yo girl to count from 10 backwards, which she did. Then , jokingly I asked her to recite the English alphabet backwards and she did, only making a couple of stops to correct herself. I then burst out laughing cause even I cannot do that.
To put things in perspective, she's 100 % Khmer born and bred [ not mine ] and has been number one in the class for the last 5 months of exams.

Now I'm hope that I'm not the only dummy here, so how many members here can recite the alphabet backwards. ?
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Reciting the alphabet backwards sounds more like a sobriety test a state trooper would give you after pulling you over.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

Ha! No way! I can barely say it forward. Shit. I just tried. I can barely get started. Made it to W.

She must have an eidetic/visual memory to be able to do that.
These kind of ppl often score high on IQ tests.
There is a disproportion of left handedness in the group.
People with this trait often develop an overwhelming knowledge, and if the ability is channeled, can be amazingly productive.
A rare gift of nature!

funny you should mention that. It IS. They also will sometimes put three coins on the floor and tell you to pick them up in ascending order but as they're lookin away or garble it so you hear descending. I went thru this eons ago and found it suspiciously scamlike. Remember thinkin I could not recite the alphabet backwards stone cold sober.

dude put a nickel, dime and quarter on the floor and said ascending order in a way that it coulda been descending. To make matters worse he was the spittin image of Dan Ackroyd and was all smiley and easy goin the whole time. I bet he made em LOTS of money.

SC...I think Mr Curious mis-quoted, he appears to be talking about sobriety tests.

Those sobriety tests US cops give are ridiculous, you'd think they would use more modern techniques like a breathalyzer test...shit, I can barely walk in a straight line or touch my nose with my finger whilst standing on one leg when I'm sober!
