Zyklon B found in bottled Cambodian water.

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Zyklon B found in bottled Cambodian water.

Post by Basic Instinct »

Think before you drink bottled water. Zyklon B found in Cambodian water.

Potassium cyanide (prussic acid) found in bottled water.

A friend of mine who is working for an NGO in the health care sector just informed me that massive amounts of potassium cyanide (up to 8 mg per liter) were found in bottled water in Cambodia . Lethal dose lies around 70 mg for an adult. It’s thought that pesticides, insecticides and polymer products have contaminated drinking-water sources.
Arsenic, lead, aluminum, and heavy metal levels were also very high.

The news are not online yet but hopefully it’ll be in the newspapers in two or three days.

Lots of unfounded rumors about water quality recently, presumably for political reasons. I think I'll treat this as bullshit until it makes some mainstream/reputable news source - and, no, Facebook and Hot Cambodia News don't connt. In the meantime, please name the NGO and source of this info. If true they should be thrilled to be cited as the heroes they are for uncovering and exposing this menace to health.

I'm always leery of sensationalist first (and only) posts by unknown noobs - forum bombing for reaction is pretty dubious behavior.

the only place you would get that contaminant would be in an area of gold mine leach pits.

sounds like bullshit to me.

should have said arsenic for greater confusion.

try them on 440 with that line.

So...whats the name of your new, pure, uncontaminated bottled drinking water company that you will soon be advertising under a different user-name?
