Do you use Windows XP?
Dear users,
I am interested to know how many of you still use Windows XP. The reason why I ask is because I am evaluating the possibility to end support for it. Microsoft ended support for Windows XP April, 2014. If you use Windows XP then you should consider it some sort of miracle that many websites, such as this one, still supports it.
If you do use Windows XP then please state which browser you are using.
Thank you.

I'm still using XP, with Firefox. Eventually will have to dump it as increasingly, sites are not supporting it.

XP is old as dust now.

Re: Do you use Windows XP?
Totally agree that windows XP is ancient but I’d hate to see even two members unable to post here.General Mackevili wrote:XP is old as dust now.
I wonder if they’re still using XP because their hardware can’t handle the more resource heavy versions of windows 2000 and higher?
In that case, aren’t there resource sparing OS such as various Linux distros that are user-friendly AND windows-like for them?
I’ve read they run on ancient hardware smoothly and are very user-friendly for former Windows addicts.
Just wondering for the members using XP???

Re: Do you use Windows XP?
I use it because I know it well, and MagicJack and Skype work on it well. All around I think it's the best MS offering. I DO use LxPup (linux) a LOT. Even over Mint 17 (partly because Mint has NO color adjusting feature what so ever and every flippin thing is too pink, plus it's a bit bloated). LxPup runs off a usb stick (smallest I've run with is 4 gig). So that's my portal to the internet. XP has a superior (to any linux offering yet found by me) music player in WinAmp. No distortion. Good volume. Pup has a great "radio" streaming program, PMusic which lets me listen to anything from jazz, to Phish and more.
I'm using Pale Moon on ALL of them, having defected from Sea Monkey (both of which are based on Mozilla/Firefox but with OUT the bloat. Pale Moon even offers a version optimized for Acer Netbooks).
Pop the pup in my pocket and I've got MY computer anywhere. I'll go online for short times for Magic Jack (free calls home when I'm in SE Asia) or a quick email check maybe, mostly use it to play music and watch movies and old TV shows, etc. Also the file manager in XP is superior. Linux only lets a few things like size, type, date modified, whereas XP lets me put set columns to show Artist, song, album, and so on.
Mostly I'm hitting the web with Pale Moon on LxPup, which WILL run on ancient puters for sure. And faster browsing than XP too.

Sea Monkeys = brine shrimp.
Invented by some dude named von Braunhut, per wiki, was also the inventor of Invisible Gold Fish and the popular X-Ray Spex.
Not so sure of the word "invented" here. But you get the idea.
