If you're happy and u know it clap your hands.

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

You guys have been so supportive and very inspiring.

I actually agreed with a lot of things you have mentioned above.

It is really true that I am very young and I have never faced many hard time in my life so far. So, I should not have felt bad about my life and I should just have lived the life and be happy with it.

I have been so privilege as I have no problems going to school. My family is really so supportive mentally and financially and they do value the education. As some Cambodians, they might have been forced by their parents to drop out school, to get a job and earn the money to support the whole family. I went to two universities and studied two different subjects at the same time. I did got partial scholarship, but my family still has to pay more money for my education.

I got a job when I was studying in year three and I was paid reasonable salary. Therefore, I should have proud of myself as not many Cambodian would have got the chance that I got.

However, as a human being, I believe that there is time when you feel so down and everything seem to be not really like what you expect and hope for.

I think I might have reached that stage earlier that it should be. Just lately I felt so down and I felt like I lost everything and I had nothing. I started to feel tired about the rat race the modern society pressures.

I see most of my classmates are really successful with career and life while I don't know where I am right now. I am like in the middle of no where. Honestly I am not jealous with them. I am really happy seeing them successful. I just felt bad about myself and started to doubt about my ability and qualification. I felt like I couldn't do anything at all.

You guy might find it strange but this is how I am truly feeling right now.
Samouth my friend it is impossible to be happy 100% of the time, in the western world there is a famous saying that "Life is a Rollercoaster" meaning that life has many ups and downs, when things are going good then you are happy, but when they dont it can bring your mood down, im one of the nicest happiest people you would meet, but ive also had really low stages where ive been suffering from depression, life is not easy, and only the tough survive, a possitive mental attitude is a good key for survival, just look at everything you have just mentioned and compare it to the less fortunate in cambodia, you have had a good run, just stick it out, and wait for the rollercoaster to take you back up again, enjoy the ride :Yahoo!:

Yeah I actually heard about this saying quite awhile and it has been really helpful and supportive. I shouldn't have said that i am not happy with my life, because it sounds like i have never been happy at all with my life. In fact, there were times that i felt so good and happy with my life as things were like what i expected. Ok i should have said that i am not really happy with my life lately, the roller coaster that i am riding on is going down at the moment. No doubt, i think you are a nice person. :beer3:

The problem is , we go through life using the FREE ticket we were given at birth,,,,, We all have the opportunity to upgrade that ticket by learning or trade that ticket for drugs, booze and the other luxuries of life.
