This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Yellow Bajaj Meter tuktuks

Post by frank lee bent »

Notice how these Bajaj RE are taking over from the Tuktuk?
They have meters and the price is 1200 R /km for the passenger. They run on LPG.
Because the meters make the driver accountable, fleet ownership can develop.
Add an app and you are in business.
I think these will take over very quickly.

Yeah these are perfect for Phnom Penh, the open design allows for passengers not to feel enclosed like they do in a small cab, I noticed the gf disliked using cabs in Bangkok for that reason. The LPG is awesome, this city needs it, this is where Thailand has been better off having all large trucks run on it.

In Goa now they all have doors for added safety by law. Meter tricks will make or break them. I don't hold out much hope. It won't change the fact that they will still think they are motorbikes though. They will still block the moto and bicycle lanes.
