I witnessed violent intervention at street 51

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

No, I wouldn't because I know I'm small and won't help anything by jumping into it. I would call another people around me or police to help.

OK, I'm on my phone, so bare with me as I have big thumbs.

I'm an idiot and learned a hard lesson last night.

I was not watching my cash as I was having a big night out and unexpectedly ran out of cash. I had to use my American account to pull out cash and my rent was due today.. I figured that I would pull out $390 since I was being charged a 5$ fee. The moto driver must have spotted the hundreds. Drive me down a dark alley and stuck a knife to my belly. I gave him all the 100 bills and ran. Somehow I ended up outside Club Vito. Went home. First mugging in the country. All my fault.
You was drunk, but you can remember it well. Fortunately, you are alright.

Right, i didn't feel bad for not jumping in to help them. I guess if that foreigner wasn't that physically huge, he might had been beaten down by the drug addict Cambodian guy.

No Cambodians would jump in to help them, as i mentioned in the op. The foreigner was stopped by a few Tuk Tuk drivers for jump in. I think they didn't want that foreigner to get injured.

As a white man, I have a pretty good plan of only putting my hands on a local here if it's 1 - Self Defense of me or family and friends 2- A Jao. Not like I'd join in the beating of a random jao, but if I caught one in my house...
I'll give ya 500 Riel for it...

Why didn't you beat up the Joa who robbed you. In self defence is must if you can handle yourself, but if you cant and you hit out you could make things worse. I guess that the best bet for you is without violence . My assumption is if you where a banger you would have not given up your money to a robber even if he did have a knife . I mean one on one anyone who can handle themselves would have fought back.

Guess I'm not a "banger", as you put it.
